Myself and a mate are going to go and watch the Middelkerke super prestige in february.
It would appear that we can enter and race? (I am guessing the event that loosely translates as newcomer race rather than the main event!)
Does anyone have any experience of this. Is it really as simple as just turning up and signing on?
This all seems a bit too easy to me but i saw Mick Perrin's antics racing against Stybar et al and i am a bit confused...

If you get to ride, better spend the next few weeks learning to ride and run in sand as its got a lot on the course if I remember
if you are a member of the TLI or LVRC you can ride the ICF races which are as good as the national trophy races here..

Permalink Reply by martin booth on January 6, 2012 at 9:48 Perrin rode at Bredene was a relatively minor one,for whjch you can just enter on the line,i suggest you do what Barry has suggested and do a search on the web for other events,of course it may depend on what class you are as you don't say?
Permalink Reply by martin booth on January 6, 2012 at 9:51 You also mention a newcomers race, yes there are but you will find there are for younger riders basically juveniles, the term used is neuwelingen (excuse the spelling)
Permalink Reply by Alex Welburn on January 9, 2012 at 18:01 also to race in Belgium, you need a letter of authority from BC as far as i know,
Permalink Reply by Tom Randall on January 9, 2012 at 20:15 Never ridden cross in Belgium - but the one road race I did, didn't require approval from BC, just searched the local paper for a race and went for it - but that was 10 years ago!
Permalink Reply by martin booth on January 10, 2012 at 12:33 Yes have to agree with that last comment,i've probably raced around 100+ races now over the last 30 odd years, never once been asked for letter of authority from BC,mind there could always be a first time!
