I've been lucky enough to get some Dugast Rhinos for racing but the sidewalls are goin all black, looks like wet rot. What should I have done to stop this happening in 1st place?

When they're brand new, seal the sidewalls with Aquasure or similar. Here's the geek's guide in intricate detail.

It's possibly not too late to save them... they need drying out, cleaning and sealing, but they're forever filthy now matey :-(

Buy some Aquasure on eBay
Cheers Dave I'll give it a go before my next race. I'll bring the wheels inside to dry the tubs out to prep.

Do you do anything to tubs at the end of season or do you just leave them glued to the wheels?

Clean them thoroughly at the end of the season - check they're still well glued before putting them away, and leave them glued on if you don't need the wheels in summer. Really essential that they're not anyway damp as the sidewalls will rot over summer. I had a nasty blowout in August because of a neglected 'put away' wheel !
Dugast charge 46 euro plus postage to fit a new carcass

That's a good point Barry - they're encouraging recycling of the tread - a surprisingly expensive part of the tub - so re-carcasing is a good choice - especially if you get a few done at once and cut down on the expensive overseas postage.
dont know whether FMB do the same service ??? they seem to be better and last longer than Dugast ???
will post when I know
That's great news, I've got a brand new Rhino with a big rip in the sidewall after 1st race. €46 is better than chucking it - result.

FMB will fit new case but they charge 5 euro loss than the cost of a new one so Dugast seem the cheapest they charge 13 euro for postage, perhaps if we send a bunch of them might work out cheaper. I have one rhino to go
