Permalink Reply by Steve Simpson on November 16, 2011 at 14:52 I had the same problem with my little lads football boots. I found if I stuck them in the freezer this got rid of any nasty odours. Also great fun watching him put his boots on after taking them out of the freezer!
Permalink Reply by big daddy wayne on November 16, 2011 at 23:02 try putting bicarb of soda [about 10tbsps in each shoes while they're dry] and then put them in the freezer - used to work with my old rugby boots
Permalink Reply by Jason Surridge on November 21, 2011 at 9:39 I heard a rumour that it is something to do with the glue used which is why they react in such a manner. I found neutradol spray works quite well. If not don't sniff your shoes, I sure there's a name for that!
Permalink Reply by John Gillmore on November 21, 2011 at 11:48 I've tried putting my shoes in the washing machine with Halo Sports Wash http://www.germwarfare.co.uk/index.php/halo/halo-sports/halo-proact...
and it improved them.
Permalink Reply by Stephen Cooper on November 21, 2011 at 20:35 i had a pair of shoes with the same problem to stop the smell is simple "put them in the bin" yes thats right the advice of the importer!!!!!. The problem is we cyclists are not a big consumer group and get walked over. Now if we were a big consumer group of sports gear like "chavs" the company involved (nike)would replace them quickly to protect their image. Yes they had the same problem a couple of years ago with a model and thats what they did.
