Having standard older rims my tubs only tend to stick (well) at the edges. I've heard that you can use half a strip of tape to raise the centre of the rim. To help the central section stick.

I'm trying to get my head round this - do I just take my Jantex and cut it in half along the middle? If so, how do I do it without sticking my scissors together?

Have I completely misunderstood?!

Cheers,

Neil

You can use normal veloflex cotton rim tape (i.e. just rim tape for clinchers - not sticky tub tape) to do that and glue it to the rim.  Doesn't need obsessive glue layers. Only really appliccable for very 'deep v' rims though.  So much of it depends on how well you're stuck on at the edges anyway - the middle is fairly peripheral I think. The edge gets all the stick.
