Hi all, i'm looking for a new mount.

Have a budget of between £1000 - £1200, been looking at BMC cx02, trek x01, tricross comp, and focus mares 2010. All have pretty much the same spec. Anyone have any experience of these bikes or any advice?

Many Thanks

Andy

Also consider Genesis Vapour and of course the new Boardman X bike.
I raced a 2008 Tri Cross Comp this year, It was OK, the slow factor was me rather than the bike
The 2010 Kona Jake the Snake looks pretty good to me, and for just under 1000 bones too

I like this Ridley as well (http://www.awcycles.co.uk/brands/Ridley/Crossbow,%20Cyclocross%20Bi...). It looks pretty sexy and it's Belgian too (I think?) so must be good

I'd happily come last on either of those.
The Boardman looks good really good value for money - and I used to ride one of the Treks and thought it rode well
depends what it's for. For an all-rounder, any of these sound good.

For pure CX racing, consider going 2nd hand and getting identical 2 bikes?

or go 2nd hand and get just one, but good and properly kitted out (tubs, the right sized chainrings, decent brakes etc). I always found myself changing half the kit when I bought complete bikes (both road & cross)
