I don't know where you'd get a bike so tall and with such a short top tube - 56 is dead short for a 59 isn't it.

The Cannondale CX9s are lovely frames but not easy to get hold of ;-) but they have a sizing issue (the 58 i ride is is big as any other brand's 60 and much bigger than a Columbus 59!) - Their sizing is below.

I really got on with the crosslight EVO to be honest but the paintwork was a shocker. Horses for courses.
The Empella frame is exactly! the same as the Columbus one as far as I'm aware.

Try John at www.empella.co.uk (cx-imports).
Hello Dave,it is short for a 59 but its 59 centre to top with a really short headtude.my problem is i have long legs and end up with a lot of spacers and an inverted stem. How do cannondale size them in that what measurment is 56 is it 56 centre to centre sloping or 56 centre to centre horizontal? its never easy choosing s new frame is it ?

If you're long-legged (like me) then it doesn't really matter what size the frame is vertically, as you won't be struggling for standover height. It's top tube and head tube length that count.
If the problem is getting the bars the right height then I'd go for a larger frame with maybe a 57 or 58 top tube and run a shorter stem. 13cm is pushing it for a cross bike. The larger frame will have the longer head tube that you need.
I'm also long-legged, so ride a Scott. It's a large frame, non-sloping, 58cm c-t-t seat tube, 54cm c-t-c top tube, 14.5cm head tube. It's big enough to slide easily onto my shoulder, more so that a sloping top tubed frame. I use a flipped 10cm stem but no spacers. Works for me.
