I've been running with Fulcrum Racing 5s for the last two seasons but fancy going the tubular route this year. I've read good things about the Strada Major Toms on here already and they are an option but does anybody have any views on the Easton EA70x, which are a bit cheaper. I also notice that Evans have started selling the Cole T24 Lites and these seem a bit too cheap. Any help would be much appreciated.

If it was my money i'd spend the extra and go for the Major Toms/Hope hubs, I'd trust these hubs to be more durable and if you do ever have any issues spares are easy to get hold of, including snapped spokes....

Thanks Tom I am tempted, even if it's a little more than I really want to spend. It's just that there is a set of EA70xs going on ebay at the moment and it ends in about 3 hours!

EA70s have quite narrow rims with a deep 'U' for gluing the tubs on - not ideal for a fat cross tub.
Yes - Lee's right - the advantage of the Major Tom rim is they are a very wide bed.  Stronger rim so can be built with less / lighter spoke PLUS more glueing platform.  Zipp rims are pretty good for that reason too if you don't mind selling your home and family to fund them.
Ok chaps thanks for the advice.
I'm building up a number of tubular wheels for cross at the moment in that price range. PM me if you'd like to know the details - I don't think I'm allowed to openly advertise on here
