Removing tub cement

Just glued on a set of tubs all looks OK but I've got some of the cement on the braking surface of the rim!

What's the best way to remove this? Acetone doesn't have much effect and I'm not keen on using a petroleum cleaner.

A bit of braking might do the trick.  ;-)
