So what did everyone think? I thought it was a really good event and it and Ipswich will go down as my favourite Trophies of the year.

Personally I thought the course this year was much better than last year and losing the bridge really helped.

Colin Clews and team did a good job with the race today, and I think the Belgians were probably quite impressed.

PS Dave, was that your last race in the elites? You don't fancy doubling up now Nick Craig has shown it can be done? ;-)

Possibly, but with a late entry, where would Colin Clews have found the budget? Maybe that's where our parking charge went?

I would be very surprised if Peeters didnt get start money Andy and probably some of the others (possibly those UCI ranked lower than some Brits). They were also allowed to enter inside the 3 week limit while Brits. were not.

I thought it was a great course and a really good day. Suffered from a lack of racing since Bradford but can't blame anyone else for that.

That tape was lethal - saw Elliot D get catapulted about 15ft when his bike got tangled and stopped dead.

High points of the series were def Rutland & Bradford, with Ipswich close behind (I'm rubbish at singletrack, hence that's not higher).

Derby wasn't too bad, given the space they had to play with

Low points were Bicton - nothing wrong with the course, but I didn't seem to be able to manage a lap without a bit of bike dropping off.

And the less said about Mallory the better (first rear mech on the warm up, 2nd on lap 2...)

Agreed - this parking cost thing is madness
I don't mind the rope in general, it gives a definite limit to the course, and I find it better than tape in that it doesn't get broken and blow about on the course ready for it to go into the next riders' (usually me) wheel. Blue rope against a blue sky is a problem though, particularly as the sun gets low towards the end of the day.
I loved yesterday's course, great fun to ride, although I'd agree with Dave that a couple more bits to really get the power down would've been welcome, especially as I spent what felt like the whole race chasing after getting caught behind the crash at the start.

I would guess that Colin won't see much (if any) of the car parking fee, the water board will have had that little lot.
Can I just make a public announcement to you nd Andy Waterman that I won't - ever- be doubling up and riding two races on one day. If I ride as badly as I have done since 1st October, One 40 minute race will be more than enough for me to handle in future ;-)

Certainly - I couldn't believe it when Nick came past. After he missed his call-up I thought he'd had enough for one day!
