Is it worth the hassle?
are they that much better than clinchers other than being able to run them low in muddy conditions?
What are the best at a reasonable price? seen dugasts at 60 each, and some vittoria at 30 each.
Is it necessary to mature the tubs these days?
Cheers in advance Sam

I'm asking as I think they may be a less hassle alternative to Tubs, in so much as you can run them at low pressures put tyre sealant in to help prevent punctures, and if you get a puncture you put an inner tube in. What does everyone think?
Permalink Reply by Dave Haygarth on June 11, 2012 at 21:55 People have tried tubeless and the low pressures needed for grassy traditional courses have caused them to belch air. You need about 20 psi in for an 'average' 11 stone rider. That's too low for tubeless. THAT is when tubs become less hassle than faffing with stans

Certainly worth using sealant, I used Tufo sealant in my Tufo tubs, had instances of puncturing and sealing the tub before i notice during the season. Pucntured 2nd race of season... same tub being used 22 races later on last race of season!
Plenty of sealants out there too that can be used as a preventative, I think Stans to a good one for tubulars from what I have heard, anyone used it?
Quick note on tubs too, try Tufo Flexus (normal conditions) or Cubus (muddy conditions), retail around £35-40, good bridgeing tub from clincher to tubulars, budget tubs and very good, quite robust. Must admit I have only ever used Tufo and Dugast tubulars, but used Dugast for 2 seasons, been on Tufo for 6 now and not going back! Only my opinion of course, would advise with tubs it is a case of trial and error, there is no definitive answer, if money permits it is good to ride them and find out if you like them, if not, move on to next brand, eventually you will find one you swear by!
