Further to my issue with the columbus forks without the plates at the brake bosses to take the brake springs: -

I spoke with a chap at Paul Milnes who was very helpful and contacted his supplier in Belgium however these parts are unavailable unless you buy a complete fork and i've been unable to track down the part in any of the bike shops i've went into in Glasgow so my only option is to try and find a crash damaged fork where these bits could be salvaged.

So, does anyone have a crash damaged fork or even a cheap second hand fork which has these removable plates on it?

Long shot, I know :-(

Ta!

I was scrabbling through a box of bits and rememberign your dilema I found what i think are a couple of brake bosses with holes in for springs. I am not sure what bike/fork  they came off, but looking at them I think they must bolt onto the existing mounts and then the brake goes on top of this, I will have to try and remember what they are from and check that they will work.

Brilliant, thanks Michael.

The forks John had were not suitable so your bits(!) may be the golden ticket!

However, it turns out the fella I bought the framset from has now found the parts and has said he is posting them to me so hopefully I will be fixed.  If it falls through however, and you were willing to sell them, i'd be delighted to take them off your hands!  Can I let you know in a day or two please?

Thanks for your help

Grant :-D

Michael,

Thanks for the offer however my seller came good and the bits had arrived in the post yesterday when I got home from work.

Thanks anyway :-)

Grant
