Auchentoshan

And so to the doyenne of Scottish Cyclocross, Scotlands favourite course, Auchentoshan. I must admit to a particular liking for this course as it was here in 04 that I raced my first race, fell at the first corner and was immediately hooked on the sport. The day started awfy early asit is my club that runs this so I was there taping out the course before it was daylight. The course hasn't changed much in the six years that I've been racing here but it was the silver jubilee event so these guys…See More

Best padded double wheelbags

Which are the best double padded wheelbags for cross wheels? All my single ones are very tight with a larger cross tyre on the wheel and before I splash out am curious what everyone else rates. TIA DavieSee More

yeah that is what I was hoping for, I had a test ride of a fourbikes cross bike and enjoyed it but haven't been able to get a hold of them to order one so its a Sabbath one instead. Quite excited about it, roll on October

I've been racing on a Moots that I picked up second hand. It is just awesome. The Ti is absorbing but still feels responsive. I really like how durable the rig feels and I don't worry that one bad spill could mean the end of the frame…

As far as I know it is back on at Mol, it is a fantastic weekend, there is a bar/cafe on site and even a race there on the Sunday as well, if you get one of their chalets you are about 200m from the start line. Here is a lap from a…

they even seem to let you try them for a while as well as hire them out so they must be reasonable

If you know what you are doing and have bits and bobs lying around then going secondhand is the way, I picked up a frame off fleabay for £35 last year and its ok, good enough for training on anyway. Wait about a month and you will get plenty…

The Country park rounds

A new ritual was started before the Strathclyde round, a paneer curry on the Sat night from the curry house in Milngavie. The Strathclyde park round was a new on the circuit, the first half of the course was cracking with a nice balance of wideish singletrack and very fast path, the second half of the course was a grassy climb followed by a descent down to the finish area, the mountain bikers loved the descent, me I was nearly losing my filings each lap.

Another good gridding saw me…

And so to Scotland

And then the Scottish series began at Meadowmill, after a couple of laps to see how the course was I lined up and got a great gridding, we had been told that after the brow of the hill there was no turn just follow the course. I was on the Sabbath, tubs on, ready to rock. BANG and off I went, a great start and right up there with the fast boys, coming up to the brow of the hill everyone…
