"Yes, I've also watched Belgian races on MyP2P. It's amazing how fast those guys ride - even in snow and ice. You can why our top (male) riders struggle when they get to the Worlds."

"Just been "practising" at Sutton Park. The paths were hard-packed snow. I rode some old Schwalbe 35mm Fast Freds at 30psi. They were close to bottoming out on tree roots so I had to be careful, but they were fine."

""THE Book" recommends to stay clear of studded tyres. Fresh snow is simialr to mud, but becomes more like ice when compacted after a few laps. It'll really depend on what's underneath then. Ice is just horrendous, and if…"

Some Canadian mountain bikers, who ride a lot on snow and ice, recommend the latter.

"I've done the race at Elmdon 3 times now, and i think you do well with the limited features the park has to offer. The hills make the course. I think on balance the clockwise course (used in 2007-8 season) is better , with the tough climb up…"

"Thanks for your comments Dave. We've considered Tudor Grange, but we just don't think there's enough space there."

"Hi Gary, I've done the last couple of races at Elmdon and both ways round were good. I'm not sure which I prefered. Last years had a very long straight into the finish/start area which was into the wind and made it hard going but I liked…"
