Used Items  2 x Empella Bonfire SL frame and Forks, comes with  seat clamp, FSA headset with integrated cable hanger. "In the end I have gone for 172.5. I think the idea of keeping the same crank lengths as on my other bikes makes sense. Previously ive used 175 but thats just from what people have said is the norm.   I'll let you know if anything…"

"I changed from 175mm to 172.5mm cranks this year and couldnt tell the difference on my cross bike. More leverage of longer cranks could be beneficial on steep climbs though"

"More ground clearance with shorter cranks, but higher minimum centre of gravity height. I prefer 170mm or 172.5mm for offroad, but in my opinion its one of the less important bike fit variables. I think the so-called science behind crank length is…"

"Good question, wonder what the science is behind it, any boffins out there know?  Does the geometry of different bikes change things particularly with cross? Does your height or leg length make a difference to what crank length…"
