Adrian Timmis' finish in the 1987 Tour de France was one of those classic memories for me - growing up with not much access to road cycling news and relying on the tiny reports in the paper or the very delayed Cycling Weekly reports was the norm in 1987, but in my early years in 'cross, I remember riding against Adrian Timmis several times and being a bit start struck. A real idol.
Last time I saw Adrian was a bit of a sad one when he was lying on the ground about to be taken off for a broken collarbone at a national trophy7 race in Chorley. Last time I saw him at a cross race and it was on the floor.
Still... he's had a great history in cycling and in cyclocross too, and he's just uploaded some great archive press clippings to his Flickr account, including some very early photos.
